Duties include:

  • Providing 1:1 support to a Year 10 student throughout the school day
  • Assisting with access to the core curriculum,which includes one pre-teaching session and three catch-up sessions focused on English, Maths, and Science.
  • Supporting sensory regulation to promote engagement tailored to the student’s interests

Job description:We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Geography tutor with Special Educational Needs (SEN) experience. The student will be studying IGCSE Geography next year and has a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.

The tutor will work closely with a student requiring adapted materials and teaching strategies to access the Geography curriculum effectively, fostering both academic progress and independence.

She has a visual impairment, and therefore requires appropriately adapted learning materials; additional planning time will be provided to support this. The student is bright, engaged, and motivated, making this a highly rewarding teaching opportunity.

Candidate requirments

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Plan and deliver highly personalised Geography lessons aligned with the student’s curriculum and ability level

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and proactive SEN Nanny to provide consistent support to a 9-year-old boy with additional needs. The ideal candidate will combine warmth, patience, and structure with a strong understanding of child development and SEN strategies. They will work closely with the family and relevant professionals to create a safe, nurturing, and well-organised environment that supports emotional, social, and developmental progress.

Duties include:

  • Providing attentive, nurturing care tailored to the child’s specific needs, strengths, and areas of difficulty.
  • Supporting daily routines, including morning and after-school structure, ensuring predictability and calm transitions.
  • Assisting with developing independence in age-appropriate self-care and daily living skills.
  • Promoting positive behaviour using consistency, reassurance, and proactive approaches.
  • Maintaining a consistent daily structure while being flexible to the child’s energy and emotional state.

SEN Needs

Experienced SEN TA (Filled)

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or Teacher with SEN expertise to support a bright and articulate 9-year-old pupil as his dedicated classroom support during the school day. The role is based at a prep school in Southampton and is initially offered on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

This engaging young learner acquired a brain injury in early childhood. As a result, he experiences challenges with transferring knowledge into written form and can sometimes mask his difficulties. He is highly personable and has a wide range of interests, including acting, singing, and reading.

Key responsibilities 

  • Providing in-class learning support through careful observation and subtle, responsive guidance
  • Implementing Occupational Therapy (OT) strategies within the school setting
  • Liaising weekly with the Occupational Therapist
  • Monitoring progress and adapting support approaches as needed

Candidate requirements 

  • Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build a trusting, positive relationship with a pupil
  • Calm, patient, and supportive approach
  • Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
